Polaroid Shoot (26/02/2014)

Polaroid Shoot (26/02/2014)

I forgot to upload my Polaroid scans from my previous photo shoot. I took these with Impossible Project PX-70 film and I used the Polaroid SX-70. Here they are:

This particular shot was sort of in the style of David Hockney's "Polaroid Joiners", but I didn't have enough film (or the budget for the film!) so I opted for a smaller scale version with just two frames.

New Website! (25/02/2014)

New Website! (25/02/2014)

So I've recently created a new website to highlight my work and as a way for clients to contact me. The website is: www.kip-photography.com. It's still quite new and there a some slight changes to be made. I'd love for feedback regarding the design and accessibility. I created the website through Squarespace.com and I have to say it was really easy to understand and use. They have 24/7 support - I literally contacted them at 00:50 and got a response a minute later.

Bonus photo from my previous shoot
I'm currently planning three more fun shoots for my current project. One involving face paint and capturing the colours and textures through different Photography mediums - it should get messy, but fun to shoot! And another two shoots involving interesting hair props, floral and butterflies - I just need to find the right model to suit the look!

London Shoot (21/02/2014)

London Shoot (21/02/2014)

So my second shoot for this project was a fashion portraiture shoot. I shot in London with Emma, who I discovered on ModelMayhem. The shoot was based on  the narrative of a young woman travelling through London - through the streets, the parks and even the tube. Finally she arrives at the riverside.

Taken on the Hungerford Bridge - with a great view of the London cityscape behind.

The outfit is very laidback and subtle, but it's also trendy. Cute leather jacket and jumper, and a floral patterned skirt.

Not quite sure how I feel about this framing - not what I'm usually used to, but it seems to work well

These two shots were taken at Westminster station. I wanted to capture the lost expression on Emma, and the train passing by shows how everyone's moving on but she's still searching for the Thames.

This shot reminds me of an old Vogue cover - pre Anna Wintour

These two last shots are my favourite from the shoot. Although it captures more of a portrait aspect than a fashion - they're visually stunning. I love the sort of ethereal warm glow. This shoot was a huge fun - I hadn't shot with someone I didn't know personally so it was a bit scary at first, but it was a lot of fun and I'm incredibly happy with the outcome.

Lomography (15/02/2014)

Lomography (15/02/2014)

To kick start my new photography project (Growth and Evolution) I took the Lomography Action Sampler and hit the streets of London.  My new theme is based upon the evolution and development of Photography as a medium. I aim to pursue different forms of photography; analogue, instant, digital and maybe even darkroom experiments.

 A flock of Birds

I went to London to visit the UAL: London College of Communication. I took these while we commuted around. I'm quite surprised with how they turned out. They have this pale colour which is visible in colour film - particularly with this brand of film (Fujifilm Superia X-tra 400). Quite a lot of the shots were taken in dark conditions, it was cloudy and raining all day. Some shots that I took after sunset still retained a lot of detail. It's quite versatile compared to digital - where if you have an underexposed shot it isn't manageable.
